Enter the ballot for the 2027 Moyleman

The Moyleman, Lewes Marathon 2015

The ballot for places in the 2027 Moyleman is now open. The race takes place at 10 am on Sunday 14 March 2027. The ballot closes on Sunday 11 October.

With its limited road sections and challenging terrain, the Moyleman is one of the UK’s most beautiful races (in our opinion!), and one of the friendliest, too.

The race starts at 10 am on Sunday 14th March 2027 from Wallands Primary School, and the last runner will cross the line at 4 pm at Harvey’s Yard, in central Lewes.

The route traverses the hills surrounding the county town of Lewes: halfway and the relay changeover is at the Southease YHA and there are a number of water stations throughout the race.

Each finisher will receive a bespoke pint glass, along with pizza, a pint (courtesy of Harvey’s), and a free massage.

This is a challenging race, there are no two ways about it!

It takes runners through remote parts of the countryside, is packed with hills, and is vulnerable to the unstable weather conditions that March brings.

Only 15% of runners complete the marathon in under four hours, with the majority taking between four and five hours to finish.

Note that we have a 3-hour cut-off at halfway for the full-distance race and we will be asking runners who take longer than 3 hours for the first half to step off the course at Southease.

Dogs are welcome to take part and all runners must carry plenty of water and sustenance, and wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Runners with a deferred place from 2026 should have received an email inviting you to take up your place. If you did not receive this please contact info@themoyleman.com
